Summer is coming soon
I often read the HP (blog) description after completing it and think, “I want to add this too.” Regarding the item about the explanation of U_system in section 5.2, I thought that I should add “Pareschi et al.’s exercise (task) on strict conservation of momentum and energy” after completing it, and I added it immediately. Also, “Mastering Fortran77 Fixed Format in 3 Hours” in section 5.1 was originally a two-page A4 document called “Mastering Fortran in 2 Hours” that was used in a university seminar, but it was expanded to four pages and titled “Mastering Fortran in 3 Hours,” and it covers Fortran grammar concisely (Sorry. Only available in Japanese). Recently, the number of programming languages has increased, and now you are lucky if you can find just one book on Fortran even in the open shelves of a large library or a large bookstore. A teacher of the same generation as me saw students using Fortran and asked, “Are you still using Fortran?” I would like to say to him, “Even you learned programming with the help of Fortran when you were young.” Now that I’m quite an old man, I wanted to write something a little fun, so in Section 5.2 I’ve included some redundant information (bilinear interpolation and rolling mats, the origin of the name U_system, and Mori Ogai’s novels) to explain things. If it makes some people laugh, then I’ll be very successful.
